Director's Message and Mission Statement

The English Language Institute is designed to enhance your English language skills in academic, professional and social settings.  Our instructors are trained in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to create a rewarding and enjoyable classroom experience for you. Our setting in historic Charleston offers additional opportunities to participate in a wide range of community and school-based activities which further enrich your learning experience. You will find that your education at the College of Charleston’s English Language Institute will help you to reach your goals successfully.

Additional information about the program can be found on this website, and I will also be glad to respond to your questions as you make plans to attend the ELI.
